About American Guarantee
02A freestanding nonprofit public-benefit organization.
American Guarantee is a freestanding nonprofit public-benefit organization chartered in the State of California, where its administrative operations are based.
American Guarantee is active with the International Association of Career Management Professional (IACMP). Through this affiliation, it meets a key requirement of the National Organization for Competency Assurance, which guarantees the integrity of all professional credentials.
American Guarantee uses the “University without walls” format, which has proven effective in adult and continuing education for more than three decades.
At its core is a Board of Fellows that serves as sponsors, evaluators, and arbiters of excellence in the career management field. Fellows are located worldwide in areas with concentrations of independent career management practitioners and corporate career management professionals.
A team of Fellows reviews the career management experience portfolios submitted to American Guarantee by applicants. The AOCFI Boards appointed the initial groups of Charter Fellows.
After a successful portfolio review, the Fellows nominate new Fellows and Certificants for appointment by the Governing Board.

Portfolio Structure
Maintaining high standards for career management certification.
The American Guarantee Board for Career Management Certification is established and maintains high standards for quality in the industry.
American Guarantee works to understand workplace needs and the opportunities available to career professionals. The International Association of Career Management Professional (IACMP) promotes standards and the development of individuals in the profession.
The Association of Career Management Firms International (AOCFI) is committed to having career firms proactively meet workplace needs through ethical practices.
American Guarantee is the association focused on establishing a standard of excellence and a mechanism for assuring individuals and organizations that career professionals have the training and background they need to lead others through work and life transitions.
Read application requirementsThe Board of Governors of American Guarantee has recently committed to revitalizing the certification-board process. The plan is to make the credentials more diligent and meaningful. To achieve this, the following steps have been agreed upon:

Examine
Use a 12-month period to examine the entire certification process, standards, and competencies.

Re-examine
Re-examine everything to help meet current workplace needs.
- 03
Communicate
Maintain ongoing communication about goals and progress with Certificants, sponsoring organizations, and the University.

Plan
Establish a clear action plan with steps, a timeframe, and a mechanism for monitoring progress.
- 05
Test
American Guarantee will provide a test to every qualified applicant for the final Certify Professional certification.
- 06
Verify information
All information provided by the applicant must be proven to be true and active.
- 07
Decide
All decisions made by American Guarantee will be final.
American Guarantee reserves the right to refuse any certification when the information provided by the applicant cannot be proven true and active. All certifications will be verified with the co-sponsoring university.
Application
Certificate and test requirements.
All qualified applicants must provide a copy of the Certificate of Completion from the State University as an email attachment to American Guarantee.
Each university will verify the Certificate of Completion. A test sheet will then be emailed to each applicant.
Applicants must return their test answers within three months and achieve a passing score of at least 70 percent. Applicants who miss the deadline or score below 70 percent will be terminated.
